Under: Amiri Hospital, cafeteria
A while ago I posted pictures of the doctors' cafeteria at Amiri Hospital on Facebook but I'm gonna revisit that subject after reading 'ilsul6ana' blog about Amiri outdated rooms & furniture. LINK
The doctors' cafeteria is located at the basement of the hospital just in front of the Morgue, talk about an appetizing location
, and the moment you walk through its door you are hit in the face with the heavy thick cigarette smoke because doctors usually smoke in there and frankly I don't blame them. There are no assigned rooms for smokers in the whole hospital neither for workers nor visitors which compels hem to smoke anywhere in the hospital even in packed jammed elevators. On top of that, the cafeteria is one small closed space with no windows and lacking a good ventilation system.

Furniture fit for a patio & not a supposedly high class hospital

Although broken, still can be used if you don't mind a backache.
And when this happens the broken chairs are not thrown out, instead they are stacked at the corner one on top of the other.
The dreaded corner. The 'cemetery' of broken unwanted chairs.
The latest invention the Management introduced to the cafeteria are the siamese-twin chairs, these are 2 chairs that are connected together by bars and when sitting on these chairs you are forcibly bound to your neighbor with restricted movement and no freedom to move the chair as you please.

Siamese-twin chairs. Try to move them from one table to another. You need to work out in order to do that.
At peak meal times, you are lucky to find a chair to sit & have a decent meal & I'm not even gonna write about the food quality, its cleanliness (or the lack of it) because that needs another lengthy post. Often tables are lacking chairs as it seems there are never enough to accommodate all the staff especially during on-calls which forces the doctors to have their meals inside the on-call rooms, needless to say, this attracts cockroaches & cats which compete with the doctors for the rooms

Tables devoid of chairs. Fancy eating standing up? Best way of saying" GET OUT"
